Home Cleaning Service No Further a Mystery

As a Maid Service Provider, have you ever arrived to a customer's home, you've bid for a specific quantity of time, or a particular task, and you get there, and there's additional work needed? What in the world do you do?

All right, now that is a trick question, because we have set aside a particular quantity of time based upon a person's home when we went to bid the preliminary contract, right? Now, when you get to a customer's home, and it's actually important to do this in advance, when you get to a consumer's house and you're walking through your home with the homeowner. You have to ask the client about this concern, "Did you just pick up your home before I arrived here, or is your home always in this condition? If I give you a cost based upon this condition of the house, when I show up each time to clean up, I expect your home to be in this condition.

If I get here and there's spaghetti all over the kitchen, or if there are toys all over your home, or there's laundry and things scattered about, there's clutter everywhere, it's going to take a lot more time than I'm bidding for right now. On the occasion that I get here and the house is just trashed for whatever reason, and in some cases it takes place, I either need to charge you more money, or I need to just get the mess and let that be the job of the day. So which is it?" And let the customer decide. Since the homeowner often will state, "I would rather you pick up the clutter, since in some cases my home is simply a mess, and I do not have time to clean it up." There are other customers that say, "I don't want to pay additional money to have you come at your cost and get my mess." All right, then from the first day, let's accept that when I get here, your home will remain in this condition. You need to have that conversation due to the fact that if you're showing up now, and the house keeps getting messier and messier, either the nanny needs to pick up the toys, or the homeowner needs to pick up the toys, or the child whose toys they belong to need to pick up the toys.

I don't really care who it is, because unless they have actually contracted you to get the mess, then that needs to be a conversation that you have with the home owner, because nobody is paying you today to get the mess, and you have another house to clean when you're done here. Even though you're not charging by the hour, you're still working by the hour, due to the fact that we just have many hours in a day. No matter what you're doing, you're in essence working by the hour, since you're spending some of your time in order to do that task. If you have 2 or three houses in a day, whether you admit it or not, it's on a timed schedule.

When the time for that house is up, you can't keep remaining and cleaning up, because then you will lose profits from the next home you're supposed to go clean. Does that make good sense? So you do need to have a conversation with the homeowner, and simply say, "Hey, listen. When I bid the job, your home was in this condition, and now that I've arrived, always there's increasingly more clutter. It's requiring time that I don't have.

I did not spending plan the clutter time into the job and the rate that I gave you. Now, a lot of people when you provide them the option, they don't want to pay the additional cash, because house cleansing is not low-cost, and they can inexpensively choose up their own toys, or teach their kids to put things away after they're done. It is a found out skill, and it's something a parent can discover and teach their kids, and their kids can learn it without the parents having to pay the home cleaner that additional cash.

"Your house is a mess, you hired me. I need to help you, you need to help me understand what website those services are. The 2 of you have to figure it out.

Until we meet again, leave the world a cleaner place than when you found it.
